Q

What size of company can use the Integrated Model for Director and Corporate Development ?

A

The Model has been developed and applied in companies of all sizes. As it is always tailored to the enterprise, size and status of company are not an issue.

 

Q

How much time will it take ?

A

Depending on the initial Stock Take, which will ensure we work on the areas that will yield the fastest benefits, the Model can take from 1 to 6 months to work through. This very much depends on the initial status of the customer, and how mush effort the customer will dedicate to the activity.

How do the ‘1 to 1’ meetings operate ?

A

The 1 to 1 meetings are confidential between the participant and the mentor from Compass House. We never report back to the customer or manager – unless the participant asks us to as part of the mentoring activity. Our focus in the 1 to 1 is on the individual and their development, although naturally we allow time for the participant to ‘unload’ items from the workplace, recent workshops etc.

Can I come to Compass House as an individual just for the mentoring part of the model ?

A

Yes, of course. We see many people who want to develop themselves with or without the support of a company. This support can include a full service from CV generation through to connection with head-hunters.

 

Q

What happens after the Model and the meetings have been completed ?

A

We find that the customer will want a further Stock Take to check for further development, both for the board and the company.

We also find that the ongoing strategic projects and people development continues to cascade to the next level of management.

Is this a ‘one size fits all’ model ?

A

No. Before we start work, we will hold a ‘sock-take diagnostic’ meeting to ensure we understand the customer’s definition of success, and we always tailor the programme to add the fastest value by hitting the right issues.

Can I access materials on-line ?

A

Yes, we already have some downloads available on this site, and we intend to create a ‘Members Services’ area where customers can access our tools and techniques as part of the contract we have with them.

 

Q

I need to train some of my people as mentors and coaches – can you help ?

A

Yes. An important part of our work is in the development of individuals and systems for mentoring and coaching. We can do this for individuals wishing to become mentors, and for companies wishing to install a mentoring and coaching programme.

 

Q

What do you mean by mentoring and coaching ?

A

Mentoring is about drawing out from a person what is already there from life experiences, values, goals etc, and providing the insights and reflections to allow the individual to make use of this in their own development.

As part of the mentoring process, we will develop a ‘Coaching Agenda’, which is more about specific skills training.
